The Ubyssey, the definitive source of news on campus, is looking for CPSC students like you to improve the way their news articles are spread. Their current goal is to be on the cutting edge of online journalism, and you can be a part of this initiative! This is a great opportunity for your CPSC skills and hard work to gain exposure! Webmaster:
The Ubyssey needs webmasters! Responsibilities include working with the editors to achieve their goals on the web, maintaining and improving ubyssey.ca, expanding our online ad strategy, SEO optimization and integrating multimedia with our current framework. This is a volunteer position; however, it would be the foundation of our future web development team. If you’re interested in journalism and social media, this is a perfect chance for you to get ahead of the industry. Must know HTML, CSS, PHP, and be interested in Java.
Web Content Coordinator:
As we move into the world of interactive print design, we need someone who can facilitate this online as well. Many of the projects we would like to do require translation into Flash, Java, CSS, etc. If you’re interested in infographics and the changing face of news media, this is the position for you. Some examples include: interactive maps, navigable infographics, and more

Mobile/Social Media Developer:
As social and mobile media expands, we need someone who can be versatile enough to get our product out there quickly. For example, we need a Facebook application, a more interactive and intelligent mobile edition, and much more.
Efficiency Consultant:
This position is for anyone interested in cross-platform integration. We work almost exclusively within the Adobe suite for our print edition, and we are trying to find a way to translate that directly into our online workflow. Server knowledge is a must. You will be working closely with the editors to identify workflow issues.
