HSBC Shanghai Info Session

The event will take place in the Wesbrook Building located at 6174 University Blvd, Room 100, from 5:45-7:30pm. HSBC Shanghai will be interested in meeting graduating undergraduate students and Master’s students, proficient in English and Mandarin. Math Mania Volunteer Opportunity

The Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences is having their first Math Mania event at Science World and they need your help. Please join them on Oct 27 and Oct 28 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. They need volunteers for this weekend event, and you can join for one day or both days of the event.

It is a lot of fun using methods to teach math and computer science concepts to children (and adults!) by games and art. Lots of hands-on activities!

Innovate or Die Pedal-Powered Machine Contest

Google and Specialized are searching for the brightest engineering minds on earth for the first ever Innovate or Die Pedal-Powered Machine Contest.

We’re asking students to invent and build environmentally friendly, zero-emission machines that transform human pedal power into a new and useful purpose. After you build it, you will film it and post it on YouTube by Sunday, December 15th.

The Grand Prize for the most innovative submission will be $5,000 and a Specialized Globe bike for the winner(s). The inventors behind the top 5 runner-up inventions will also receive Specialized Globe Bikes. This is an opportunity to flex your school’s inventive muscle and have some fun doing it. And perhaps even help save our planet, one pedal stroke at a time.

SUS IT Manager and Webmaster positions still available!

The SUS IT Manager and Webmaster positions (for the upcoming school year Sept 07- April 08) are still available. Deadlines have been extended to Sept. 28, 2007. Upon satisfactory completion of the term, the volunteer will receive a monetary honourarium.
