The Game Developers Association of UBC will be hosting a guest speaker from Radical Entertainment on November 21st in CEME 1202 at 5:30pm. Radical was selected as one of Canada’s Top 100 employers and one of BC’s top 20 for this year by MacLeans Magazine. CEME is the Civil and Mechanical Engineering Building located at 2324 Main Mall.
Come and take a look, free Pizza and Pop will be served.

Show us your artistic skills and design an original logo for our CSSS (the Cube) clothing!
The logo has to be at least 300x300 pixels, however anything bigger is better.
The winner will get $100 and your logo will be featured on our t-shirt clothing for this year!
Color restrictions: None, however keep in mind that we will be gray scaling your logo for our t-shirts! So make sure
it looks good gray scaled as well!
Deadline: November 23rd 2006

The UBC Technology Entrepreneurship Club is proud to bring you our third seminar of the year.

Frederick co-founded AirG in 2000 while attending Simon Fraser University
and has spent the past six years growing the company as a profitable leader
in the mobile entertainment space, with over 120 employees and sales in 33
countries. AirG powers social networking on mobile phones and counts as its
customers leading mobile operators and media companies including Sprint
Nextel, Virgin Mobile, Cingular, and MTV Asia. Ghahramani studied
Engineering at Simon Fraser University, was a recipient of the 2005 BDC
Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and is a passionate advocate for wireless
social networking and mobile communities.

Focus on Women in Computer Science invites you to meet Maria
Klawe - President of Harvey Mudd College.
President Klawe was the former head of our department, as well
as the former Dean of Science at UBC. She became Dean of Engineering
at Princeton University in 2002, and in 2006, she became the President
of Harvey Mudd College. At UBC, Maria, together with Professor Anne
Condon, founded the FoWCS committee, a committee composing of faculty,
staff and students dedicated to promoting and retaining women in
computer science. Maria is also the founder of the Supporting Women
in Information Technology (SWIFT) program and the Bachelor of Computer
Science (formerly ARC) Program.
This is a great opportunity for you to meet an amazing woman who has
made a great contribution to the UBC CS community!

This is a call for students who want to get involved in
next year’s IMAGINE event as Squad Leaders. Given that
our department admits students directly to first year,
we have a special CPSC Squad so it’s going to be important
to identify a Squad Leader from our student group.
